Neutral Do you believe in God? How much of what is said about him do you suppose to be true? How did he come to be? Question

I can see no other plausible way that we could be here on this earth but from a creator.

I am an electrical engineer, and so I am all too familiar with the amount of effort it takes to create a complex, interdependent system that works. I have such a difficult time just getting one computer program to work...and if I miss a seemingly minor peice, the program will fail entirely (ie: if I miss a semi-colon at the end of a line....or a communication protocol that I've messed up). Only after I put a great deal of effort (and intelligence) into my work can I possibly get something useful to happen.

As I look around at the natural world, I see complex systems everywhere, all working together. Atoms form differing elements which form molecules all connected so carefully together -- with just the right number of electrons on each element to create the correct electrical forces to keep them together. These molecules form materials with vastly different properties which are so useful for us on a macroscopic level. We use them to create all kinds of different products, from shampoo to steel. And then I look at the ecosystem of earth that is so carefully crafted to give us the environment in which we need to live. The earth is exactly far enough from the sun to create a temperature on earth to sustain life (~92,000,000 miles) -- and if it were to change only ~1,000 miles or so, this balance would be comprimised. On top of that, the earth is tilted on its axis, which gives us seasons. If we had no seasons, there would only be a small portion of the earth that would be pleasant to live in. And if the earth did not spin like it does, the sides of the earth facing the sun would be too hot to be habitable...not to mention the side facing away from the sun which would be definitely too cold to grow any food at all.

Complex, interdependent systems like these do not happen by chance!
